In the early hours of September 30 1980, a farmhand on a cattle station near Rosedale in Victoria, Australia was woken by distressed animals and a high pitched screeching sound. What he witnessed that night became one of the most compelling physical evidence UFO cases in Australian history.
A dome shaped UFO hovered over a full 10000 gallon water tank, there was a loud noise as the UFO lowered a black tube into the water, it drained every single drop very quickly, and then landed a short distance away leaving clear landing marks behind.
The Night Everything Changed
George Blackwell, a 54 year old caretaker at the White Acres property, was suddenly woken around 1 a.m. The cattle were making a huge racket and a strange whistling sound filled the air. Thinking it might be rustlers or some other trouble, he grabbed a flashlight, jumped on his motorbike, and rode out to check on the herd.
The Dome Shaped Craft Appears
As George approached the area, he saw something extraordinary hovering about six feet above one of the big open topped concrete water tanks. The object was roughly 25 feet across and 10 to 15 feet high. It had a glowing white dome on top, an orange colored underside, and a distinct black band running around its middle with what looked like a row of circular portholes or lights. The craft made a loud piercing whistle that grew into an almost unbearable scream as he got closer.

George stopped his motorbike at a safe distance and watched in stunned silence. The object moved slowly and deliberately in the air, its lights reflecting off the surface of the full water tank below. He later told investigators the whole scene felt completely unreal, like something out of a science fiction movie, yet it was happening right in front of him on an ordinary Australian cattle station.
The Black Tube and the Draining
Suddenly a long black tube like appendage emerged from the bottom of the craft and extended down into the 10000 gallon water tank. There was a tremendous roaring or sucking noise and the water level began dropping at an astonishing rate. Within just a minute or two the entire tank was completely empty. George could not believe his eyes as he watched thousands of gallons of water disappear in front of him.

He remained frozen on his motorbike, too shocked to move. The craft hovered steadily the whole time without any visible propulsion. After the tank was drained, the black tube retracted back into the object. George later described the whole process as incredibly efficient and purposeful, almost like the craft knew exactly what it was doing and needed the water for some unknown reason.
The Landing and Physical Traces
The object then moved a short distance away and actually landed in a nearby paddock. George heard stones, dirt, and vegetation being thrown outward as it touched down. When it finally lifted off and disappeared into the night sky, he carefully approached the area. The next morning investigators found a perfect circular ring burned into the grass where the craft had sat, approximately 25 feet in diameter, with six clear spoke like marks radiating from the center. All the flowers and plants inside the ring had completely vanished and the ground felt unusually hard and dry.

Local newspapers covered the story the very next day and investigators from the Victorian UFO Research Society documented the site thoroughly.
