Who Was Joe McMoneagle?

McMoneagle was handed a sealed envelope containing only coordinates and the date “1 million years B.C.” He had no idea the target was Mars. Once in the viewing room, he began describing what he saw. He reported a barren, dusty landscape with extremely thin air. He saw huge, pyramid-like structures and underground shelters. Inside them were tall, thin humanoid beings with large heads who appeared to be the last survivors of a dying civilization. They seemed to be waiting or in a state of suspended animation as their planet slowly lost its atmosphere.

He spoke of the beings attempts to preserve their culture and knowledge, their use of advanced technology to survive, and the slow death of the planet’s ecosystem. I remember a few years ago I watched my first video on this story and it's stuck with me ever since, there's something about it that makes it seem... real?. I not sure how to decribe it to be honest.
